MOVING OUT: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is moving out of Melrose Place - the actress and her costar Colin Egglesfield have been cut from the CW drama, Entertainment Weekly reports. The decision to cut the two actors has been "the original plan going into the development of the show," executive producer Todd Slavkin tells EW. Simpson-Wentz said the gig "has been a thrill."
HONORED: Animation pioneer and "Toy Story" creator John Lasseter is getting a career honor from the Producers Guild of America. Lasseter is receiving the David O. Selznick Achievement Award at the guild's awards show Jan. 24. He's the first producer of animated films to receive the award. Past recipients include Clint Eastwood, Jerry Bruckheimer and Billy Wilder. WITH GLEE: The Material Girl has given Fox's Glee the rights to her catalog for an all-Madonna-themed episode in the works for early next year, Entertainment Weekly said. Series creator Ryan Murphy also said he's considering approaching American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert about a guest appearance, but nothing is official.A PUBLIC DIVORCE: Robin Wright Penn opens up to Redbook about her split from Sean Penn. In the magazine's November issue, out Oct. 27, she says of her public divorce after 13 years of marriage: "Yes, it's divorce; it's a given that it will be public. But ... it's so disrespectful. ... 'I have to relax and just give it over.' " She said she and Penn, with whom she has two children, will remain friends.
