The British are coming! This time around, though, it's to take part in Glamorama.
The 20th incarnation of Macy's fall fashion, music and dance extravaganza, held this Friday at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, will feature performances by Robin Thicke and Karmin. Featured clothing will be by Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Jean Paul Gaultier and others.
Though they may not be Brits themselves, these designers clearly found inspiration for their fall collections in all things British. Count on plenty of Union Jacks on the Glamorama stage, but you're likely to see subtler English influences at the show, on the runways and, eventually, in clothing stores near you.
Laura Schara, Glamorama's fashion director and Macy's fashion and trend correspondent, calls those looks "classic, tailored and put-together." And she heartily approves of the return to not-so-fast fashion. "Classic things stay in your wardrobe much longer," she said.
Here are some top trends that will be making their way down the Glamorama runway:
