MNFASHION PRESENTS FALL FASHION WEEK

When: Oct. 2-9.
What: The seasonal weeklong celebration of the local fashion scene will include boutique parties and runway shows. The most anticipated event is likely to be "Little Black Dress," showcasing local designers' takes on the classic wardrobe staple. Featured talent will include event producers Maritza Ramirez and Emma Berg, along with Max Lohrbach, Ivan Idland, Laura Fulk, Jenny Carle, George Moskal and Sarah Holm.

What: Michael Kors is more than a brand -- it's a lifestyle. The designer and "Project Runway" judge is finally opening a boutique in the Twin Cities. Expect a luxury-oriented shop with shoes, accessories, ready-to-wear, fragrance, watches and eyewear from the Michael Kors, KORS Michael Kors and MICHAEL Michael Kors collections.

THE FIRM OPENS A BOUTIQUE

When: Sept. 17.
What: Bluebird Boutique's Sacha Martin is going to show you how to sweat in style. She's bringing her keen fashion sense to a new onsite shop, featuring workout clothes, loungewear, hair ties, candles and swimsuits by Hard Tail, Tonic, So Low, Om Girl and Alternative Apparel. You don't have to be a member to browse and buy.

L'ATELIER COUTURE MOVES TO MINNEAPOLIS

When: This week.
What: Amanda Kautt has moved her fashion-forward bridal salon across the river to a much larger, bright and airy loft penthouse with a very New York feel. Brides-to-be will be treated to a sweeping view as they try on gowns by top brands, including Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang and Elizabeth Fillmore.

GOLDSTEIN MUSEUM OF DESIGN CELEBRATES

When: Nov. 4.
What: The 35th anniversary of the University of Minnesota's Goldstein Museum of Design must be celebrated in style. A "Black and White Ball" will coincide with the exhibit "Polarities: Black and White in Design," which will examine social interpretations of the dramatic color combination.

MISSONI FOR TARGET LAUNCHES

When: Sept. 13.
What: With 400 pieces, the Missoni line will be Target's largest designer collaboration yet. The colorful iconic zigzag knits will be available at significantly lower prices than their high-end inspiration. The brand is based in Italy, but the collection was designed at Target headquarters in Minneapolis and Margarita and Angela Missoni visited during the design process.

Vogue magazine's annual Fashion's Night Out (FNO), an evening dedicated to getting customers excited about shopping and into stores to purchase something, is Thursday.
