After a long, hard winter, it's difficult to stay out of the sun. The new clothing collection Mott 50 (www.mott50.com) offers a chic way to cover up.

Big, national retailers are always looking for ways to get your business -- and keep it. Now small, local boutiques are getting into loyalty programs.

"I wanted to reward customers who come in often and shop with us through the hard times," said Thao Nguyen, owner of Parc Boutique, who started her own program eight months ago. About 500 people are enrolled in the loyalty program at Nguyen's Minneapolis boutique. "Now we get calls from people just to ask how much they need to spend to get the discount," she said.
