Anticipation is building for the royal wedding in April, when the world will be watching Kate Middleton's every fashion decision. While she's expected to wear a gown by a British designer, we asked a few Minnesota designers for their visions of what the future princess should wear down the aisle.4. TARA LATOUR LINDEMEIR

(Bridal designer for Tara LaTour, www.taralatour.com.)

Her concept: "I thought her dress should be something classic that is combined with something youthful, chic and romantic. The buttons all the way down the front and the slight fuller cap sleeve makes it chic and youthful while the Chantilly lace is classic."

2. CHRISTOPHER STRAUB

(Former contestant on "Project Runway," www.christopherstraub .com.)

His concept: "The bust of this gown has a soft, one-shouldered neckline. Tiers of mint silk are accented with white pearl-beaded trim. Kate seems like she has her own personality and won't be just 'the princess.' She is confident and has her own style, which includes a lot of color. Her bouquet of white flowers would pop against this light mint design."

1. DANIELLE EVERINE

(She'll be featured in "Voltage: Fashion Amplified" on April 15, danielleeverine.blogspot.com.)

Her concept: "This dress is inspired by royal wedding gowns from the past. In keeping with tradition, I have designed a full-length gown with a high collar and three-quarter-length sleeves, crystal beaded shoulders, belt and cuff details that elevate the formality of the dress and give it a touch of modernity. The chiffon overlay makes for a lush, angelic feel with a nod to the sheer trend that is happening in fashion now."

5. LESLIE RANDALL

(Apparel design major at the University of Minnesota.)

Her concept: "Middleton is the classic Ralph Lauren beauty -- she is effortlessly chic, but never stiff or severe. I did not see her in a white lace gown with a 20-foot train. I saw her in something warm and slightly daring. This gown would light her up, without being overwhelmingly extravagant. The creamy taupe shade and antiqued crystals show a tinge of newness for bridal, but also a nostalgia for things old."

6. Emma Berg

(Her work will next be seen in a fashion show on April 14, www.emmaberg.com.)

Her concept: "A white duchess satin bodice over a fitted, barely there lace long-sleeve top leading into full white ostrich feather skirt. I wanted to cover her up a bit for her wedding, but the full feather skirt will give her a 'Black Swan' edge that she doesn't usually wear."

3. CAROL M. LEE

(Apparel design major at the University of Minnesota.)

Her concept: "I couldn't really see Kate Middleton in a full princess wedding gown, but something more tailored and form-fitting with a touch of volume."
