Four fashionable women's clothing boutiques host upcoming runway shows:
Sept. 26: Wayzata's Bumbershute boutique pitches in at the first-ever Wayzata Runway Show + Shopping event at the Northcoast restaurant, where fall fashions from Valentino Red, John Galliano and Just Cavailli will be on view. (For more information, call Kathryn at Bumbershute, 952-475-2685.)
Sept. 27: A consortium of independently owned stores converge upon Nicollet Island Pavilion to host Collage Fashion Show (and after-party), where fans can get a taste of the merchandise soon to arrive at Uptown's Ivy, Highland Park's Stephanie's and Edina's Bluebird. It must be said, however, that the first two installments of Collage, in 2005 and '06, drew intimidating throngs of hotties. The models weren't bad either, costumed as they were in funky, hard-to-find threads and done up by some of the Twin Cities' finest hair and makeup artists. This year, Stephanie's is showing clothes handpicked just a few weeks ago at New York Fashion Week. Bluebird is excited to show clothes by Loeffler Randall, the shoe designer who only recently introduced an apparel line. Expect to see more menswear from Ivy; the store recently added a downtown men's location and has plans to open a haberdashery (www.collagefashion show.com).
