Two Google scientists, working with hourly information from the National Weather Service, have created a fascinating map of the wind in the U.S. It’s called, simply, Wind Map. It’s worth a look. The always-moving, weaving wisps and howls of wind are mesmerizing.

Bald Eagles have hatched in Decorah, Iowa. This is the nest that has been on live TV for several weeks. The chicks hatched about a week ago. The chicks can be seen under or around the mom.
