Fashionable sleeves

One more thing to thank the Dutch for besides processed cocoa: kaars- Koker, or "candle sleeves" are individual tubes to replace your standard chandelier or sconce candle covers. The sleeves come in 68 color and design options, including holiday and seasonal palettes -- from peacock to basketweave to skull and crossbones -- and can be shortened from their standard 4- and 6-inch lengths. Instructions for that are printed on the reverse of the label. Sold in pairs, for $10 to $20, the tubes are made from laminated art paper. By APa Company (named for designer/founder April Pride Allison); see www.kaarskoker.com for details or to order.
