Share your favorite room

Is there a space in your home that makes you smile? A room or nook where you feel most yourself?

Don't keep it to yourself. Share it, by entering "My Favorite Room," a new contest feature in the Star Tribune's Sunday Homes section.

Your favorite room doesn't have to be a showcase of fine design. It can be fun or functional or downright quirky. We're looking for rooms with a personality — yours!

Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking. Your favorite room could be:

• A room set up to accommodate your favorite hobby or collectible.

• A room you created for or with a child — or to bring out your own inner child.

• A shrine to your favorite travel destination — or favorite sports team.

• A room where you came up with something clever, such as a smart way of organizing your stuff.

• A unique theme room.

• A room designed around your pet.

• The room where you relax and recharge, such as your personalized "man cave" or woman's retreat.
