Ramsey County is giving residents three extra days to drop off their leaves and yard waste at county collection sites, due to inclement weekends this fall and the delayed leaf drop.

The county had planned to go to reduced winter hours starting Wednesday at its seven collection sites. But the sites (after closing Thursday for Thanksgiving) will remain open during regular hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, before switching to winter hours.

The collection sites — Arden Hills, Mounds View, White Bear Township, and the four St. Paul sites at Battle Creek, Frank Street and Sims Avenue, Midway and Summit Hill — will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

After Sunday, only the Frank and Sims, Midway and White Bear Township sites will be open through March, on the second Saturdays and Sundays of each month.

All sites take leaves, grass and non-woody plants. Trees and shrubs also are accepted at the Arden Hills, Frank and Sims, Midway and White Bear Township sites. Ramsey County sites are open only to residents. More information can be found at RamseyAtoZ.com, or by calling 651-633-3279.
