Holiday hot line for flowers

Should you buy your sweetheart alstroemeria or roses? Not sure what to do with that big Valentine's Day bouquet once you get it home? Will dropping a penny in the vase make that spray of orchids last longer? The Flower Promotion Organization has answers for you.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, the organization will sponsor a Valentine's Day hot line at which you can get advice on how to care for your flowers. Call 1-888-356-9763 or go to www.flowermd.com. The advice is free. The flowers aren't.
