Plus: Minnesota Dahlia Society tuber sale
Need a low-growing stellar shade plant to fill some holes? Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost' has been named the Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association.
This variety of false forget-me-not, a popular common name, grows 12 to 15 inches tall and boasts blue blossoms in spring and attractive frosty-silver leaves with green veins the rest of the growing season. Browsing deer tend to leave the plant's rough-textured foliage alone.
