For many homeowners, it makes more sense to update the kitchen or put on an addition rather than move. But where do you start?

For many homeowners, it makes more sense to update the kitchen or put on an addition rather than move. But where do you start?

At "Reinventing Your Home," you'll have an opportunity to talk to architects about your remodeling project.

Local architects will hold a panel discussion to explore how to make a home livable for the long term. They'll also take questions from the audience, and judging from last year, will field queries about everything from building green to getting the most bang for the buck.

The Home of the Month contest winners, which are a dozen local homes designed or remodeled by architects, also will be announced at the March 21 event, sponsored by the Minnesota chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Star Tribune.
