MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is holding a discussion with state public health experts to discuss improving preparedness in the event of a future flu pandemic.
Last week the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the current supply of H1N1 flu vaccine is likely to wane before a shortage of the vaccine is filled. Klobuchar says she wants to come up with a list of recommendations to prevent that problem in the future, including new and faster technology for producing vaccines.
Joining in the Friday morning panel discussion will be Dr. Michael Osterholm of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. The discussion will be held at the university's school of public health.
