Teenage pessimism

U teen study finds some groups are more fatalistic than others.

TEENAGE PESSIMISM

University of Minnesota researchers found that one in seven teenagers expects to die young -- before turning 35.

The rates are even higher among poor and minority teenagers. Here are the breakdowns:

Indian: 29 percent

Black: 26

Hispanic: 21

Asian: 15

White: 10

Poor: 24

Male: 15

Female: 13

Urban: 17

Suburban: 13

Rural: 13
