Three more flu-related deaths were confirmed in Minnesota last week, raising the total to 197 since the flu season started in October.

The latest flu statistics, released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health, show that:

One person was hospitalized with complications of the flu last week, bringing the season total to 3,089.

In addition, only one school outbreak was reported last week, and no new outbreaks were reported in nursing home facilities.

The flu season, which peaked in January, was one of the most severe in Minnesota in years. Last year, 33 flu-related deaths were reported statewide.
