Trail Mix Race Minnesota

What: 25K and 50K runs, with proceeds benefitting the Three Rivers Park District Adaptive Equipment Fund. Three different trail races are offered.

When: Saturday, April 19. The 50K Ultra for solo runners starts at 7 a.m., the 25K for solo runners starts at 7:30 a.m., and the 50K for four-person teams starts at 9:30 a.m.

Get your rear in gear 5K run/walk and kids' fun run

What: A 5K event with proceeds going to assist the Minnesota Chapter of the Colon Cancer Coalition in its efforts to provide information and access to colorectal cancer screening and to provide support for those who are diagnosed.

When: Sunday, April 13.  The Kids' Fun Run (half-mile) starts at 8:30 a.m., the 5K run starts at 9 a.m., and the 5K walk starts at 9:05 a.m.

Where: The route will begin and end at Southdale Center and go through the streets and neighborhoods of Edina and around Lake Cornelia.

Life time Fitness indoor triathlon

What: This is a race against the clock as competitors start with 10 minutes in the lap pool, move to the cycling studio for 30 minutes and finish with a 20-minute run on a treadmill. The total distance they cover over the course determines their score.

When: Sunday, March 30. Starting times are staggered, beginning at 7 a.m. Participants will receive a designated start time via e-mail prior to race day and will be asked to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before start time.

Run the valley 5K/10K race and 5K walk

What: The Golden Valley Human Services Foundation hosts this event to raise money for organizations that benefit the community.

When: Saturday, April 5. The 5K run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 10K run starts at 8:40 a.m.

First annual run with the wolves 5k run/walk and kid's fun run

What: A 5K event in which the participants get to meet Crunch and the Timberwolves Dancers, and get a free ticket to the April 6 Wolves vs. Grizzlies game, where the top three men and women finishers will be recognized.

When: Saturday, April 5. Pick up race packets at 8 a.m. at the bandshell at W. 43rd Street and E. Lake Harriet Parkway. The Kids' Fun Run (half-mile) starts at 9:15 a.m., and the Run with the Wolves (5K) starts at 9:30 a.m.

What: Celebrate Earth Day with a run along historic Main Street, past the Grain Belt Brewery and over the Mississippi River. Then participate in the watershed cleanup. A light breakfast will be served following the race.
