MINNESOTA LANDSCAPE ARBORETUM GUIDE: Volunteers with a strong interest in plants and gardening are needed to lead daily walking and bus tours from May through October. Training provided. Contact Liz Nystrom at 952-443-1437 or nystr008@umn.edu.

CHILD MENTOR: Spend time with a child age 5 to 15 from a single-parent home once a week for a year through Kinship of Greater Minneapolis in Anoka or Hennepin County.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCATE: Provide emotional support and referral information to domestic violence clients at SafeJourney in Robbinsdale.

BLANKET DRIVE: Donate or help collect clean blankets for Simpson Housing, two shelters for homeless adults in Minneapolis.

YOUTH CONNECTIONS VOLUNTEER: Help tutor students with arts, games, sports, the computer and with community service projects at Youth Connections in St. Paul, a free after-school program.

SOUP MAKER: Prepare your favorite soup for 15 to 20 people at Southshore Community Center in Shorewood. Low-cost lunches are served every Tuesday at noon. Contact Vicki at 952-470-7635.

SENIOR SHOPPER: Grocery shop for homebound seniors through STORE TO DOOR, a nonprofit grocery delivery service. Volunteer shoppers are needed Tuesday through Friday from 6 to 10 a.m. at Cub Foods in Crystal, Bloomington, Midway, St. Anthony and Maplewood.

THE GOODWILL PROJECT: Join Hands on Twin Cities at the Fairview Avenue Goodwill store in St. Paul Mon. to help organize books and toys, sort clothes and help customers.

KITCHEN CONNECTION: Help with a program that encourages the building of multicultural community connections during meals on Saturdays in Minneapolis.

COURAGE CENTER VOLUNTEER: Help with teaching art classes, transporting clients, light duties or other work at the Courage Center in Golden Valley.

CHILD ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT: Help provide child care to families working toward self-sufficiency through the East Metro Women's Council of White Bear Lake.

MOCK JUROR: Serve on a mock trial at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul. Dates are April 19, 25, 26, 30 and May 1.
