A new heat-zapping gadget promises to relieve the pain (and annoyance) bug bites and stings leave behind.

Therapik "delivers heat in the specific temperature range necessary to neutralize the venom from over 20,000 different species of insects and sea creatures," the product website claims. It's powered by a 9-volt battery and supposedly can be used 100 times before the battery poops out.

The thermo-pain-reliever is actually approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

You can buy the white-and-blue device, which the tech site Gizmodo describes as "a 1960s sci-fi prop," for only $13. A small price to pay to relieve pesky bug-bite itch. (Assuming it works. We have not tried it)
