When retailers add aisles of toys for Christmas, they make sure we notice. They start having promotions and sales after Black Friday so they won't get stuck with permanent markdowns on Dec. 26.

Shoppers can take advantage of those sales this week. Target is currently offering a "buy one toy, get one for 50 percent off" in stores and online through Saturday. The offer isn't on every toy but it does include barbie, Fisher-Price, Disney Princess and Cars 2, Nerf, Thomas and Lego City.

For more Target deals, sign up to receive "25 days of toys" via email at the website or text 827438.

For an extra 5% savings, use a Target RedCard. And if you know which toys you want, compare prices online at Toys R Us, Amazon, and Wal-Mart. Target and Wal-Mart will match competitor's store prices, with more than a few restrictions.

is touting oits biggest Christmas sale ever through Saturday with a 64 page catalog with 80 deals. Sample savings include "buy one and get one 50 percent off or free" and free gifts with purchase.

Wal-Mart is usually the most aggressive on toy prices, so before you buy, check prices in the store or at Walmart's site.
