I ate at my favorite "guilty pleasure" restaurant last night--Boston Market. The mashed potatoes are so rich they don't even need gravy, but I pour it on anyway.

Recently I signed up for the restaurant's email VIP club and got a $3 off coupon for any meal over $6. When I took it to be redeemed last night, I noticed it had expired a few days ago. But something told me that Boston Market accepts expired coupons. Sure enough, they took it, but the restaurant will quit accepting expired coupons April 1, according to the cashier in St. Louis Park.

So who else accepts expired coupons? I know Cub Foods accepts expired manufacturers' coupons up to 90 days past the expiration date.

Bed, Bath & Beyond accepts their own expired coupons indefinitely, but you have to listen to a gentle reminder to "please try to use them before they expire" each time you use one.

Any other businesses that you've discovered that accept expired coupons? Either post a note here or email me at jewoldt@startribune.com. Have a good one.
