Among the most beautiful parks anywhere in North America, Gooseberry Falls is perched magnificently along Minnesota's North Shore. Featuring five waterfalls, a massive gorge, agate beach and, as its centerpiece, the Gooseberry River, the park first was preserved by the Legislature in 1933. More than 225 bird species nest or pass through, and its list of other wildlife runs the gamut — wolves to deer, bears to herring gulls. No electricity is offered among the 69 drive-in campsites, with a 40-foot maximum RV length. But hiking and viewing opportunities are boundless. Expect inspiration. You won't be disappointed. 1-866-857-2757.
