Psst: Continuing Britney-fication of Miley

Last update: November 23, 2009 - 5:30 PM

Miley Cyrus has miles to go before making a successful transition from child idol to grown-up pop star.

Her latest attempt: dressing up as Julia Roberts' prostitute character in "Pretty Woman" for her 17th birthday party at a New York club last week, according to buzz on the blogosphere.

Cyrus recently has been given gossip citations for pole dancing, donning a short, tight dress for the red carpet and wearing streetwalker boots in an Elle fashion layout.

We know you want to ditch the Disney image, girl, but when a Google check on the words "Miley Cyrus hooker" yields 241,000 hits, it's pretty much mission accomplished.

The Cyrus family seems to be obsessed with turning their daughters into Lolitas. Little sis Noah, 9, wore two different slutty Halloween costumes this year. "Christmas in Canaan" indeed, Billy Ray.

Come on, Miley. Instead of going the way of Lohan on your path to adulthood, take a page from Taylor Swift. Swift is the hottest young star of the moment, and she does it with class, candor and sweetness.

Call Tim Gunn for a makeover, stat.
