ESPN's "Mike and Mike" needs a "Gossiping with Golic" segment.

On Monday, Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic brought their radio/TV show to the Dome, where I caught up with them during station breaks. They were in town to shoot a Miller Lite spot with Tony Dorsett, who had a historic 99-yard run during a "Monday Night Football" game at the Dome in 1983.

Their boss, Scott Shapiro, ESPN radio program director and a Minnesotan who claims to have been reading this column since he was 5, kindly introduced me as the "mega popular gossip columnist," and I was aces with Golic.

"That means you read all the same magazines as I do," said the former NFL defensive lineman. "The last thing I heard now, the Khloe and Lamar Odom wedding didn't really go official because they are waiting for the pre-nup to be signed. ... Sounds like it's over [at Brangelina's]. A little bird tells me that Brad [Pitt] is off living on his own, getting back into that life again but still wants to be a dad to those kids [he's got with Angelina Jolie]."

Just as I wrapped my mind around how well I was bonding with Golic, he surprised me with this riff: "I tell you, the one that I'm really worried about -- Jennifer Aniston. What is going on with her? It's unbelievable. I'm starting to think that maybe it's more her than anybody else."

I think Aniston hops into bed too quickly, but I told Golic I thought she was a little needy. "There you go. I'm with you," Golic said. "Are you kidding me! I know all this stuff."

This beautifully illustrates that sports is not much different from gossip. That said, Greeny pointed out, "I don't know anything about Brangelina. I don't know anything about any of the Kardashians. Some might argue I don't know anything about anything. If there's anything I do know, hopefully, it's some sports. I know show tunes. I know all of the kids' stuff. I have two little kids, so I know ... 'Hannah Montana' or the 'Wizards of Waverly Place.'"

Greeny's still got layers: "My dream in life would be to play Sky Masterson in 'Guys and Dolls,' but unfortunately I can't sing."

Shapiro, the radio program director, said he played that part in a Temple Israel production.

There wasn't anybody more excited about being in Minnesota or at the Dome than Shapiro, who was practically giddy about getting to spend the night at his home with his family. Shapiro's mother, Carol Shapiro, of Edina, said Scott's first sporting event was a Michigan-Minnesota basketball game "when he was 6 weeks old and he slept through the whole thing." His mom was at the Dome early Monday along with grandparents and a cousin of Scott's, viewable at startribune.com/video.

Scott asked, "Who won the game?" and mom said, "Minnesota."

That's whom Shapiro wanted to win "Monday Night Football" and today's final Dome game for the Twins, who take the division if they can win this one-game playoff against the Tigers.

Vlahos surfaces So much for gossip about restaurant biz troubles turning Dean Vlahos into a recluse.

The founder of Champps and Redstone was at Saturday's packed private opening for the newest Crave, located in St. Louis Park's The Shops at West End development. "Who told you that?" Vlahos said with indignation (possibly of the mock variety). I had picked up the reclusive gossip at a recent cocktail party. "I've been a little busy," Vlahos said with a sideways laugh, as you can see at startribune.com/video.

No kidding. In June, Redstone's board was busy trying to dump Vlahos' friend, Tom Petters, the disgraced Wayzata businessman awaiting trial on fraud charges. A few weeks later, in July, Vlahos announced that he was leaving the Redstone board to concentrate on developing his newest restaurant concept.

Fast afoot KFAN's Henry Lake moved like the rapids at the Crave party when he saw yours truly.

"You scared him off," said the CW's Mike Rylander. "I've never seen Lake move that fast," said WCCO-TV's Jason DeRusha.

I probably assume too much to suspect that Lake had read what I wrote about him on Twitter.com last week. Suffice to say I tweeted my utter dismay that Lake attended Morehouse, where English is taught as a language.

Living dangerously Like the visions of a man wandering the desert, Om was apparently just a mirage for Jason Matheson of FOX 9 and FM107.

He has been looking for a new hangout since many of his favorite employees at Chambers lost their jobs when D'Amico Kitchen took over the restaurant and bar. A few weeks ago, Matheson proclaimed he'd found a new home at Om in Minneapolis. But Saturday night he was singing a new tune and it was about the St. Louis Park Crave being his new bar.

Matheson may have been feeling the love, although a guy named Dave was feeling something else. After I complimented Matheson for wearing another nice-looking suit, this Dave guy said, "But he shouldn't come out of his house without a bag over his head." BAM! That's gonna leave a mark.

"Girrrl, you'd better not print that," Matheson said. "You have to sit on a couch with me every Thursday [9:15 a.m., FOX 9's new 'Buzz.'] You'd better not print that."

Some people like to sit dangerously.
