The University of Minnesota will show off its shiny new football stadium to the public next month.

As part of this year's homecoming events, the university will throw open the doors of TCF Bank Stadium for three hours on Sunday, Oct. 4, for free public tours.

The self-guided tours of the $288.5 million stadium will include access to the field, the M Club Room, the massive football-shaped locker room and seats. This will be the only time the locker room will be open to the public, university officials said. The event is free and no RSVP is required, but visitors are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for the Emergency Foodshelf Network. Discounted parking will be available at some surface lots around the stadium.

The tours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.
