Saturday on NBC's "Today Show" Minnesota's Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson and their entire wedding party are scheduled to perform the church entrance that's gone viral on YouTube.com.
Set your VCRs and DVRs now! "By the way, the entire wedding party will be back tomorrow here on 'Today' to perform that dance routine live," Meredith Vieira said Friday, at the conclusion of an interview with the couple.
Vieira asked co-host Matt Lauer why he couldn't enter the studio with such dance moves. Lauer said nobody wanted to see him dance, but he speculated that Lester Holt might shake it some on Saturday.
After Heinz and Peterson got off the couch with Lauer and Vieira, the newlyweds went over to ABC's "Good Morning America" stage for an interview with Diane Sawyer.
On Twitter.com Friday afternoon KARE11 morning anchor Kim Insley tweeted that the family would be on their news tonight.
After posting the first version of this item, WCCO-TV's Jason DeRusha e-mailed me to get scoop cred. "My buddy Bridgette Bornstein got the wedding couple at the airport last night [that would be Thursday] en route to their big national attention." I called him back and asked how the CBS "Early Show" could have missed having the newlyweds on this morning when the CBS-owned-and-operated station in Minnesota broke the story yesterday?
DeRusha said it looked like the morning show is showcasing the WCCO story on its website. In another complaint, DeRusha said, "Good Morning America's website claimed it was an exclusive interview, which is always laughable."
I watched the Heinz and Peterson interview on "Today" before they appeared on "GMA." If the "Early Show" didn't have the couple on, this speaks volumes about why that show stays in third place nationally. When it comes to booking guests and pacing the show, "Today" remains the best of the morning shows.
Heinz and Peterson are going to be busy, as they talk about what's bound to be a new wedding entrance craze. Wedding parties all over the world are probably re-tooling their entrances as this is written, while tux rental companies worry.
Joyous and creative as this video sensation is, no wedding is ever perfect.
That's Chris Brown -- yes, the girlfriend beater -- singing "Forever."
