YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
Fans of choirs take note. VocalEssence caps its 40th-anniversary season on Sunday with the Lollapalooza of choral music. "Everybody Sing" brings together six professional and community choirs with Vocal Essence at Orchestra Hall.
Each group will perform a work that was either premiered or commissioned by VocalEssence in the past 40 years. After that, they will all join to sing the world premiere of "The Choirmaster's Burial," an a cappella setting of the Thomas Hardy poem -- composed by Dominick Argento. VocalEssence's Philip Brunelle says that more than 500 voices will be massed for that event.
The choirs involved are Kantorei, Magnum Chorum, Minnesota Chorale, National Lutheran Choir, The Singers and the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus.
(4 p.m. Sun., Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Mpls. $20-$40, 612-371-5656 or www.vocalesssence.org.)
