The smell of bug spray lingered as moviegoers settled into Father Hennepin Bluffs Park in Minneapolis for Music and Movies in the Park. Hosted by the city's Park and Recreation Board, the free event lured families, couples and friends of all ages armed with lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. On the bill was "Sixteen Candles."

Minutes after the sun set, the 1984 John Hughes comedy was projected onto a giant inflatable screen. Those who weren't captivated by Molly Ringwald could watch the glow from the Minneapolis skyline.
