ANNA LEE

Age: 31.

Home: Raised in Fargo, lives in Minneapolis.

Education: Attended Moorhead State University for fine art and sculpture.

Design work: Worked at Target as a technical designer for five years before leaving in January.

Favorite designer: Oh, don't do that to me. I'd have to say Isabel Toledo. She takes a very artistic approach toward design. It's artistic and couture, but she's still able to make it a business.

Most overrated designer: Anyone who doesn't understand how clothes go together. It's important to understand the art and science of clothing construction.

Store you wouldn't be caught dead in: Abercrombie & Fitch. I can't stand their tactics.

Local fashion trend you wish you would have started: I like seeing other people start trends themselves. I get really excited because then more people are taking on the role of leaders.

The piece of clothing you would run back into a burning house for: There is this red satin halter dress I made in college that has a long train with copper-colored flames painted on. It was one of my first artistic creations that had amazing fit.

Your Voltage dream band: I would love somebody like Arcade Fire. That would be a beautiful group. You know who would be stunning to design for is the Polyphonic Spree [a Dallas rock band that plays with a choir]. But you would need a team of designers.

Why you don't watch "Project Runway": I don't have cable! If I had cable I'd totally watch it. But I don't seek it out because I don't always agree with the judges.
