No dinosaurs were on hand Tuesday, but a video of the life-size robotic beasts was enough to captivate nearly two dozen St. Paul fourth-graders who attended an announcement about the "Walking With Dinosaurs" tour hitting St. Paul this summer. "So, what do you think?" the students were asked. "Awesome!" they replied. The live touring show will stop at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center June 11-15 as part of its 60-city North American tour. The production, based on the BBC's award-winning TV series, features 15 dinosaurs representing 10 species, including the Tyrannosaurus rex and a Brachiosaurus, which stands 36 feet tall and measures 56 feet from nose to tail. Also attending Tuesday's announcement was St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, who drew playful comparisons between the dinosaurs and attendees of the Republican National Convention, to be held at Xcel in September. Tickets for "Walking With Dinosaurs" go on sale at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Xcel box office and through Ticketmaster.
