Joe Mauer is off the board.

The Twins catcher over the weekend popped the question to girlfriend Madeline Bisanz -- and she said yes.

The proposal took place at Sanibel Island, which is near Fort Myers, where Mauer lives during the offseason. There was no announcement of a wedding date.

The two have been dating for at least a year. Bisanz attended Cretin-Derham Hall, the same high school Mauer attended, and they have been friends for several years.

Mauer, during a discussion with reporters on Dec. 2, was asked whether he had proposed to Bisanz yet. He said no, but he subtly indicated the subject had come up: "I've heard it quite a bit.''

Joe Mauer and his girlfriend, Madeline Bisanz, made a golf getaway in July to Duluth during the All-Star break. Bisanz is seated in the golf cart at the Northland Country Club.
