YOUR GUIDE TO THE TWIN CITIES
Martha Stewart has a new line of green cleaning products.
Martha Stewart's new line of cleaning products and her "Homekeeping" handbook.
They are certified environmentally safe and have been developed almost entirely from plant- and mineral-based formulas that are safe for use around pets and children. They are free of perfumes and synthetics.
The line was developed with the Hain Celestial Group, a natural and organic food and personal-care products company whose brand list includes Celestial Seasonings Tea, Alba Botanicals and Terra Chips.
Stewart said she tested the products in development, and made sure that everything from packaging to shipping was environmentally responsible. The clear bottles contain recycled content and the shipping cartons are sourced from managed forests.
A rug cleaner is in the works; expect polishers and abrasives to follow. There will also be a new encyclopedic volume, "Homekeeping."
Look for Martha Stewart Clean products at Home Depot stores. Prices range from $3.99 for dish and hand soap, glass cleaner, all-purpose cleaner and toilet-bowl cleaner, up to $17.99 for the laundry detergent.
