During the record snowfall on the East Coast last February, people built snow forts and topped them with signs directed at those who fear global warming and want to change our nation's energy policy. Those storms were said to be proof that Al Gore and other environmentalists were wrong. I just hope the cynics from last winter who read the July 7 headline "East Coast endures record-setting, withering heat" were able to store a little of that snow to cool their humble pie.
