Motorists traveling on westbound I-94 in Minneapolis experienced major delays earlier Thursday after a semitrailer truck carrying sheet metal spilled its load.
The truck shed its load around 10 a.m. and blocked two lanes of I-94 at Riverside Avenue for more than 2 hours. At times, traffic was stacked up to Snelling Avenue. Crashes in the backup on the ramp from southbound Hwy. 280 to west 94 and another crash at Franklin Avenue added to the mess.
Some motorists experienced delays of 40 minutes. All lanes of I-94 reopened around 1:15 p.m.
