Radiation therapists combine a lot of patient contact with technical savvy and teamwork to treat cancer and some noncancerous conditions. They work with radiation oncologists, physicists and dosimetrists to make sure patients receive the proper dosage of radiation on the exact location of each patient's body.

Registered respiratory therapists (RRTs) deal with lots of complex equipment. As everyone with a computer or cell phone knows, electronic equipment keeps getting smaller and more portable. At the same time, it offers more functions and requires more technical savvy.

When an infant or older child has difficulty with feeding, the whole family is affected, and fearful parents aren't sure how to help. Speech-language pathologists work in teams with other professionals to help children with feeding disorders thrive by reducing their sensitivity to textures and teaching children how to chew and swallow.

When a health care professional has an addiction, help may be as close as an employee assistance program or a residential treatment center. The state of Minnesota has a role as well.
