Law, Loren L. age 101, of Edina, and longterm resident of Richfield; born in Bordulac, North Dakota on February 8, 1917, and died on December 30, 2018. Preceded in death by wife Arlene R. Law, age 95 and they were married for 71 years; parents Isaac and Eugenia Law, brother Lyle, sister Virginia, and son Larry Loren Law. Survived by sons and their spouses Loren Larry (Carol), Plymouth, MN; Allan, Edina; Greg, Riviera Beach, FL; and Lanny (Maureen), New Brighton; seven grandchildren, seven great-grand- children, and one great-great- grandchild, several nephews and nieces, and many loving friends. Loren taught school in North Dakota for six years starting two school bands. He graduated from Valley City State University in 1942 with majors in Business and Instrumental Music. He served as President of the alumni Association at his university for two years. He worked with Northwest Airlines from 1942-1953. He served as an officer in world War II for two years - received his Air Corps Officer Commission in 1945. He served one year in New York City in the Air Transport Command of the Air Force. He joined Northwestern Refinery and SuperAmerica as Vice President of Human Resources from 1957-1970. In 1970 he and his wife Arlene formed Loren L. Law & Associates, Inc. a Management Consulting Firm specializing in Executive Search and Organization Studies for both the Public and Private Sectors. He served as a council member in Richfield for three years from 1969-1971, and as Mayor for eight years from 1972-1979. He also served as President of the Minnesota Mayors Association for two years. He and his wife Arlene were members of Wooddale Church and he served as Chairman of the Deacons. He retired from his own search firm in 1996 but served as Executive Vice President for Sathe Associates in their new office in the World Trade Center in St. Paul for two years. His retirement years with wife Arlene were spent during the winters at their condo on Singer Island in West Palm Beach, Florida. Since 1980 they resided at 7220 York Avenue south, Edina and during the summer months at their cabin on Lake Sylvia in Annandale, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held on January 17 at 11 am (Reviewal at 10 am) at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie; Visitation on January 16, from 4-7 pm at the Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel 5000 W. 50th Street, Edina (Highway 100 & 50th St.). Interment at Hillside Cemetery at 2600 19th Avenue NE (at Highway 88) Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to Wooddale Church and Minneapolis Recreation Development Inc.
