Chance the Rapper took no chance on national television trying to pronounce the last name of former Twin Cities and Gophers hockey standout Brady Skjei.

Cast member Alex Moffat portrayed Skjei (it's pronounced SHAY) on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" in a New York Rangers uniform and gear in a skit with the rap star.

"I'm here with," Chance began, only to stop to ask, "Can you turn around so I can get a name?"

Chance continued, "Yes, that is an S, a K and a J all next to each other, so that's a no."

Acting flummoxed, the rap star asked, "How you gonna do that hockey?"

Moffat's Skjei character delivered his answers to his hockey-adverse questioner flawlessly and got a pretty good laugh in the process.

Chance the Rapper sized up Brady Skjei's last name.

"You know, we just got to keep the pressure up and stay out of the box. ... And we got to watch the icing calls. Coach said we were icing so much, we could open a bakery."

"I thought it was hilarious," Skjei told the New York Daily News on Sunday morning. "It was kind of weird seeing your jersey on 'SNL.' "

The 23-year-old Skjei is in his third season with Rangers after a three-year stint with the Gophers, who recruited him out of Lakeville North High School.
