Searchers found a man's body in Peltier Lake in Lino Lakes late Saturday after responding hours earlier to a report of a boater in distress.
The search began at 6:40 p.m., after a report that the sole occupant of the small boat was seen falling in the water, Anoka County Sheriff's Cmdr. Wayne Heath said in a statement.
The man was identified Sunday as Rodney P. Callendar Sr., 64, of St. Paul.
His boat was spotted going in circles and unoccupied, according to emergency dispatch audio.
State Department of Natural Resources personnel arrived and used a civilian's boat for a ride, the dispatch audio continued.
Crews recovered the boat and later found Callendar underwater and dead about 11 p.m., Heath said.
