Westbound motorists on I-394 who use the Plymouth Road exit near Ridgedale Shopping Center will need to find an alternate route as the ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.
The closure is part of a project in which MnDOT is reconfiguring ramps at I-494 and Plymouth Road to improve traffic flow on westbound 394. As part of the project, the ramps to northbound I-494 and southbound I-494 will change from one exit to two exits so motorists don't have to weave across lanes to get to them.
The construction project will continue through Oct. 16. Other ramps in the area will close at various times. Here are the suggested detours when barricades are up.:
- Northbound I-494 loop to westbound Highway 1: Follow northbound I-494, westbound Carlson Parkway, southbound I-494, westbound Highway 12
- Westbound I-394 ramp to northbound I-494: Follow
I-494 loops: Westbound I-394, loop to southbound
I-494, loop to eastbound I-394, loop to northbound I-494 - Loop from Plymouth Road to westbound I-394: Eastbound I-394, northbound Hopkins Crossroads loop, westbound I-394 loop
