Founded in early 2006. Provides free valuations on more than 40 million homes in the U.S. with data on an additional 20 million.
HouseValues (www.housevalues.com)
Founded in 1999 and offers free home valuations via a real estate agent who pays HouseValues for referrals.
Redfin ( www.redfin.com)
Online real estate brokerage founded in 2002. Real estate search site launched 2004 and recently introduced an online bidding site. Now available only in Seattle, but plans to expand.
HomeSmartReports (www.home smartreports.com)
New firm that sells specific property and neighborhood valuations for $24.95.
Domania's Value Check (www.domania.com) (also known as RealEstate.com)
Launched in 2000 and provides a free comparative analysis conducted by a licensed real estate agent.
HomeGain (www.homegain.com)
Founded in 1999 and provides free estimates from a local expert, but requires personal information.
