Mike Hoeffel has signed an entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils, the team reported on its website.
The 21-year-old winger played four seasons for the Gophers. He was the Devils' second-round choice (57th overall) in 2007.
Hoeffel had 13 goals and 11 assists this past season.
The Devils also signed Alaska (Fairbanks) defenseman Joe Sova.
Terms were not announced.

The Gophers opened 0-7 last season and struggled to a 21-30 final record. Their 2016 season starts Friday in Arizona.
