Q: Is there any charge for reading startribune.com?
A: Except for the news archives and Access Vikings Premium content, all our services on the Web are free and advertiser funded.
Q: Do all articles that appear in the Star Tribune newspaper also appear on startribune.com?
A: All our locally produced stories appear online, along with many stories from our news services. However, because of copyright and distribution limitations, some of our syndicated material is not online. On the other hand, we have many online features that are not in the newspaper.
Q: Why don't you run more comic strips online?
A: We have to negotiate separate contracts for electronic distribution of comics. We have created a comics page with a combination of strips that appear in the newspaper and strips that are not available in the printed Star Tribune.
Q: Why don't you have the newspaper's crossword online?
A: We've determined that pencil markings and erasures are hard on the screens of computer monitors. Just kidding. Actually, we're offering instead an interactive crossword that you can solve right in your browser. You'll need a Java-capable browser to play online. (If you don't have Java, there's a version that can be printed out.)
Q: How do I find an article that appeared on StarTribune.com or in the Star Tribune newspaper?
A: Most Star Tribune articles published since December 2007 are available online for free. Use the Advanced Search link located at the top of most StarTribune.com pages. Refer to the search F.A.Q. for more information. Articles published in the newspaper dating back to 1986 are available in our paid archive.
Q: Are all of the classified ads online?
A: : No. All obituary notices appear online. Otherwise only ads from advertisers who have requested that their ad appear online do so. Classified ads appearing online generally continue to appear for seven days after their newspaper schedule.
Q: When are the classifieds ads published on the Web site?
A: They are typically available by 6:30 a.m.
Q: How much do you charge to place a classified ad online?
A: A: See the Star Tribune Advertising section for Classified and Display newspaper and online rates and contact information.
Q: Can I submit a newspaper ad via startribune.com?
A: A: In many cases, Classified ads to appear in the newspaper can be ordered. Click here to get started.
Q: What time does a new issue of the Star Tribune go online? Is this a piecemeal process, or is it all put online at once?
A: News, features, sports and weather content is updated continuously from 5 a.m. until 1 a.m., seven days a week. Associated Press content is updated 24 hours a day. The articles that appear in the morning Star Tribune generally are available the previous evening on startribune.com as the articles are written and edited. Because of this continuous updating, there is no such thing as a "new issue" of startribune.com.

Q: How do I seek a correction to an article published by the Star Tribune?
A: Send an e-mail to corrections@startribune.com containing as much information as you can provide about the article's headline, byline and content, and a description of the problem.
