It appears former Denver Broncos receiver and assistant coach Steve Watson could be the Gophers next receivers coach. has reported he should be named, but that the announcement might not be made for a while. People are telling me there could be an announcement today.

I think it would be a pretty good hire. Watson was an undrafted free agent who carved out a pretty good nine-year career with the Broncos as a possession receiver. He played in 125 games, made 353 career catches for 6,112 yards and 36 TDs. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1981 and retired after the 1987 season.

He joined the Broncos staff in  2000, became the receivers coach in 2003 and was Mike Shanahan's associate head coach in 2007 and 2008.

That's about it. I'll let you know when I hear more.
