True story: We participated in an eight-team fantasy NHL auction draft on Tuesday with several RandBall commenters, and it wasn't until Thursday morning when we had Rocket look at our roster that we realized that we're in a Western Conference-only league. That's not to say we know *nothing* about hockey, but it does suggest that our attention to detail with the NHL might be a little lacking right now. As such, instead of giving you some sort of bold prediction about what will happen this season, we'll leave it to Rocket. He'll delight you in the comments, but when given the entire forum, he will deliver a conference preview in haiku form. The East was yesterday. Now the West. Rocket?

Despite hours and hours of searching the world wide web, I have been unable to find anyone else offering either a preview of the upcoming NHL season or funny cat videos. Luckily I can fill at least half of that void. Last time was the comparatively putrid Wales Conference. This time, we look at the much stronger Campbell Conference. As always, haiku is the only reasonable way to explore the prospects for each team.
The teams are in the predicted order of their divisional rank.
