The Gophers baseball team won its last home game of the season, beating Penn State 8-2 at the Metrodome. The U's big inning was the seventh. Right fielder Bobby Juan hit a three-run homer and second baseman Mike Handel followed with a solo shot.
The Nittany Lions had won the first two games of the series.
SOFTBALL: PURDUE IN ROUT
