Eden Prairie starts fast, beats No. 1 Blake• EDEN PRAIRIE 14, BLAKE 8: With apologies to the 61 other varsity teams, Friday's regular-season ending battle between Blake and Eden Prairie was, without question, the most anticipated girls' lacrosse game of the year. The two teams are Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the state rankings and have met each other in the past four state championship games, each winning twice. Friday night, Eden Prairie scored eight seconds into the game, and rode the quick start to a lopsided 9-3 lead at the half. The Eagles maintained the six-goal edge to the final buzzer. Giz Easton scored five goals and had two assists for Eden Prairie (13-0) and teammate Emma Claire Fontenot added four goals and three. Meghan Bauer led Blake (11-2) with three goals.

STATE ADAPTED BOWLING

Campanaro leads Humboldt to PI title• PI DIVISION: St. Paul Humboldt junior Tony Campanaro dominated the field, rolling a two-game series of 513, to win the PI Division boys' singles championship at the Adapted Bowling state tournament Friday at Brunswick Zone in Eden Prairie. Campanaro, who entered the tournament with the lowest handicap (45) in the field, continued his strong play with scores of 248 and 243 to lead the Hawks to the team title. Austin's Rachel Cook won the girls' singles championship with scores of 224 and 251 for a 475 series. Minneapolis South's duo of Tyler Spratt and Hassan Upsher won the doubles title with a combined scored of 871.

• CI DIVISION: North St. Paul/Tartan freshman Ashleigh Miller finished strong, rolling a 228 in her second game to win the girls' singles championship with a series score of 475. Mankato East's Colby Tolzmann won the boys' singles title with a 450 series, Minneapolis North's Jerick Sands and Ronnie Kennedy took first place in doubles with a score of 889. North St. Paul/Tartan won the team championship with a one-pin victory over Albany, 1,627 to 1,626.

Highland Park's Gao Lee completes her undefeated season by winning state title• It didn't come easy, but St. Paul Highland Park junior Gao Lee did exactly what was expected of her Thursday, completing an undefeated season with a three-game victory over Law Law of St. Paul Central. It was the third time this season that the two met and the familiarity was evident in the first game, which was won by Law 21-16. But Lee settled down and regained her powerful style in the second and third games, winning 21-11 and 21-13. St. Paul Johnson's Kaziah Josiah and May Yang defeated teammates Song Fang and Crystal Martinez 21-3, 21-9 to win the doubles title.
