U.S. Senate race: Mining face-off

As Iron Range Democrats continue to bash U.S. Senate candidate Mike McFadden for his support for less-expensive Chinese steel to build the Keystone XL pipeline, the GOP contender against Al Franken is planning a trip to tour northeastern Minnesota's PolyMet mine. Both actions could indicate a change in the wind in the former DFL stronghold that Al Franken may have to fight hard to win votes in the region.
