Maurice Stans Museum opens

Forty years after a disgraced president resigned, Shakopee is coming to terms at last with its relationship with one of his closest associates. The Stans Museum, launched by one of Nixon's top moneymen, head of the infamous CREEP, the Committee to Reelect, will launch for the first time ever, this coming week, a full-on treatment of the Watergate scandal, complete with cheeky touches like a hands-on display allowing kids to reassemble shredded documents. If some townsfolk would still like to forget the stain on perhaps the town most famous son. Both Stans and his co-defendant, the former attorney general John Mitchell, were acquitted of the charges.
