The Minnesota State Fair began winding down its 2013 run on Sunday, with cool temperatures providing pleasant relief. While Will Bollum of Northfield, led his Limosin heifer, Zarah, to the judging barn while Christian Netzke of Lamberton touched her up with some black spray dye. Bollum had a crew of a half dozen friends from the fair circuit pitching in to help him get his heifer ready in time for her final competitions Sunday afternoon at the State Fair. She'd already won her breed in the FFA show and the open class show and was returning to compete in the FFA Supreme Heifer competition where all the heifers who won their breeds compete. Later Sunday night he was showing her in the open class championship. Of all the help he got, "It's good to have friends," he said.
