Our politicians have talked (Hubert Humphrey), made feminist history (Walter Mondale), rattled cages (Paul Wellstone), and rocked the world (Jesse Ventura). Sen. Eugene McCarthy famously opposed the Vietnam war, while Gov. Wendell Anderson turned up fishing on Time. Elmer C. Anderson at 26 was the youngest lieutenant governor ever, and went on to serve a record number of years in the executive branch. And Harold Stassen kept running for president.
